Boondocking and the Phoenix Zoo

____13feb3

It was shortly after we returned from Quartzsite that we got a chance to boondock in the desert.  We were thankful the weather cooperated.  It was warm, the sun was out, winds were calm and there was no rain in the forecast.   This time things did work out as planned even though we didn’t do a lot of planning for the outing.

We met some RV friends south of Phoenix for a few short days.  The timing was right because a couple were traveling through from the east, another was heading north from the south and a few more were already in the area.  How could we not take advantage of such perfect timing?

We crafted together, talked together, ate together and even enjoyed a couple campfires.  The campfires were fun and we didn’t smell like smoke afterwards.  We had two propane fueled fires.  A nice part was we all fit around the two fires and were even close enough to feel the heat.   It was definitely awesome.

Time moved along and before you knew it, we were headed back to the Phoenix area.  It was a very busy week.  We had something planned each day.

Next on our agenda was a trip to the Phoenix Zoo with Roger and Lynn.

Lynn loves baby goats!

It’s always nice spending time with the Rempes.  We didn’t have to worry about Buck because we took him to PetSmart’s Doggie Day Care.  He loves playing with the other fur kids but he’s also pretty happy when we show up to take him home.  You can always tell he had an active day because he tends to sleep the rest of it.

After the zoo we headed out for a late lunch.  Trying to decide where to go is always a task especially when we have so many choices.  Mexican food at Garcia’s won.  The food was excellent and so was the company.

Wednesday I had signed up for an embroidery class at Mulqueens.  Sometimes these are fun and other times you don't learn a thing.  I was very disappointed with the class.  What a waste of time.

Other than a little visiting on Thursday, we also had the motorhome washed and waxed.  It always looks so nice when it’s clean and shiny.  Terry normally does a hand wax on it but we were offered a sweet deal on a hand wax.  We couldn’t refuse and now the motorhome should not need wax again  until fall.

On Friday I was up early and at the airport heading to Pensacola to celebrate our Valentine’s Day baby.

‘Tis life on the road.
