I wasn’t so sure I was going to blog anytime soon. However, this isn’t really soon and here I find I’m doing just that.
We’ve been mighty busy since we pulled out of California and crossed that Arizona border. Not all of it was work (obviously) but we’ve had pretty full calendar days. We’re still hoping next week will be slower. We keep saying “next week” because the current week always tends to fill up.
Arriving in Yuma, we pulled our little “gadabout” into the RV site that Jerry and Janice had purchased. Thank goodness there were three RV hookups on their lot because we were the third RV pulling in. Dave and Jane were also there from Washington.
Our first get together was that same evening and long time friends, Maryjane & Tom plus Steve & Carol, were invited over to reminisce and talk about old times. It was a great evening and we enjoyed getting together. Another night we went over to Steve & Carol’s. Steve fixed amazing ribs for dinner and we watched the beautiful sunset over the backyard golf course.
There were a few stops at shops and restaurants but five days flew by fast and we were soon on our way a little deeper into Arizona. Since then, we’ve been doing a lot more visiting and a ton of working.
We’ve caught up with a few friends from last year but didn’t take pictures except for this one of Jan and Bill. We’ve also visited with Terry’s mom. Buck had a chance to return to Doggie Day Camp and even the doggie park. He was excited to be back even though he wasn’t really back because we were a long ways away.
We’re in a new location this year and have been doing a lot of work on the lot and shed. That’s been going on for a few weeks now. Like I said, we keep hoping “next week” things will slow down. Being in a new place means meeting new people. That’s always a little struggle but we have met some pretty nice folks …. along with a few others that aren’t quite as nice. I’ve also learned again what “busy body” means. I’m not sure how I feel about being here. Only time will tell and those stories will be shared around a campfire.
I love being in our 5th wheel but miss the wheels of the motorhome that moved so much easier. Again, we will see what happens in the future.
Tomorrow is Thanksgiving day and Justin is due to arrive and share the day with us. We’re very excited about that. I’m thinking about a short trip up to Portland next weekend for their Christmas Market ---- that’s a maybe. Christmas will soon follow and we’ll be spending that in Washington state. Buck has reservations for his suite at Doggie Day Camp. Plus, we also just received great news that Tammi put in for vacation to come down and visit us in January. We'll have to shuffle plans around but we’re certainly looking forward to her visit. !
‘Tis life on the road.
I enjoyed that. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGreat Catch-up!
ReplyDeleteHad planned on saying Hi but got hung up.
Wishing everyone a Happy Thanksgiving.
Be safe and Enjoy!
It's about time.
The nice thing about a Motorhome is that we keep on moving, let the busy bodies do their own thing.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanks giving
Awesome update. Want to do mine for me?
ReplyDeleteOh I wish we were there to spend some time with you guys and Jan and Jerry. That would’ve been so much fun. That place looks very nice.
ReplyDeleteOh boy what would we do if there were no busy bodies in the world....lol they just can’t help themselves I guess.
Wonderful news about Justin and Tami. I know you will have a great time with both. Happy Thanksgiving to all.
Happy Thanksgiving. I'm sure you'll have a great day with family.
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving and enjoy the warm weather. Rainy and gray here in Washington.
ReplyDeleteBusy in AZ and thinking about a quick trip to Oregon for shopping - you may never have one of those slower weeks! Fun to catch up with old friends and make new ones. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours.
ReplyDeleteYou need to get real jobs and go back to real work. Then you won't be so busy! :cD
ReplyDeleteHappy Thanksgiving!
