Chicken with it’s head cut off

chick

Every heard that statement before?  You know the one.  It’s the one about being so busy you’re running around in circles like a chicken does when it’s head’s cut off …. gross, I know.  However, that’s how busy I feel we’ve been.  I’ve missed the 7 day maximum I NEVER let my blog go without updating.  Maybe I shouldn’t say NEVER but since 2009 it’s happened very few times.

We’ve had birthdays up the kazoo.  It starts with Jordie’s on to Michael’s, Lee’s and then finishes off this month with Tammi’s.  September is about the same.   In addition to that Sandi’s been around and we’ve been back and forth to Portland for medical records and car dealings.  Golly, we’ve been running around a lot ---- way too much.  Today is the last party this month and I think we’re going bowling!!  That should be an experience!  We still have the Clark County Fair ahead on Tuesday ………….

As I mentioned previously we had an ozone treatment done to the Ranger in hopes of removing mold and mildew that really ignited Terry’s allergies.  I’m not so sure it worked.  We parked the vehicle at our son’s for a few days after the treatment.  When we weren't in the vehicle,  Terry’s allergies seemed to subside somewhat.  However, once we were ticketback in it the sneezing, hacking,  stuffiness and runny nose returned.  We’re thinking it didn’t work as we hoped so we had no choice but to off-load the vehicle.  Terry has an appointment with an allergist so we’ll see if we get this figured out before that appointment.

-- Another new experience was Terry being stopped while test driving a vehicle  .. Sheriff said we should get an additional $1,000 off because the dealer didn’t put a plate on it.  We didn’t buy it so it didn’t matter after all .

I hate car dealing.  I hate it.  I hate it and I hate it but sometimes you have no choice.  It’s always amazing how worthless your vehicle is and how terrific and in demand theirs is.   It’s stressful and very tiring.  Well, MOST of that is now behind us so maybe things will calm down.  Maybe we won’t be so tired and maybe we’ll be able to take care of the things we should be taking care of.  Maybe but that’s only after we get the stuff I ordered on Amazon installed … like the running boards installed, etc. etc.

What else have we been doing?  Well, we actually haven’t had a lot of time to do much else.

‘Tis life on the road.

  1. Did you buy a new vehicle? We very seldom deal any more so not really an issue for is/ the coach is 17 years old and the car 14 and both still do the trick nicely.

    1. We did. We had no choice but we NEVER, NEVER buy new. We'll let someone else take the first huge loss.

  3. Definitely time for a vacation. My allergies are bad this year but not as bad as Terrys. Sure hope he starts feeling better.

  4. Sometimes family events and chores are all we can do and that's OK. At least most of your family events were parties instead of medical. Parties are much better. :)

  5. When I saw thw title of your blog posting I thought of you being super busy, and it proved true. I don't like to do the car deals with dealers. We mostly sell private and buy private. Works for us,

  6. Too funny, getting pulled over on a test drive! Did the dealership refund you the money for the ticket? ;c)

I most often buy new because I tend to keep cars for a couple of decades...

  7. Good grief. When I read on Facebook that you had been stopped and was in a dealer car, Paul and I just laughed. How could that dealer forget to put a license plate on a car?
I hate going to the car dealer. I will go with Paul, pick out the one I want, and then go home and let him do the wheeling and dealing Car dealers are like politicians. They lie. The guy came back with their final offer like three times. Makes no sense to me.

    1. Sounds like something we've done several times. We've visited dealer lots in the past when they were closed with Terry returning the next day not me !!

  8. I did our "shopping" online, test drove the one we liked, already knew it had what we wanted at the price we wanted, bought it. Bought the last Jeep the same way and can't imagine ever going back to walking a bunch of car lots and dealing with numerous sales people. Glad you found one you liked and can move on to more fun stuff - like more parties!!
